State Superintendent, Joy Hofmeister, announced today that she will ask the Oklahoma State Board of Education to release school for the remainder of the school year, at the state board meeting this Wednesday. All school activities will also be cancelled. We will be moving to a virtual learning and/or alternative learning setting for our students. We are waiting on guidance from the state department at this time. As soon as the framework is set up and given to us, we will be letting you all know the plan. This instructional plan will NOT begin until April 6. There is to be NO instruction between now and then.
Unfortunately and sadly, this also means we will be cancelling prom, senior trip, and 8th grade graduation. We hope to schedule high school graduation for seniors as soon as possible after this pandemic passes, which could be late summer. As soon as we get clearance to have graduation (from the CDC and the state department), we will give you a date. We want to honor our seniors, so know we are looking at other creative ways to celebrate them in a safe and healthy manner.
I am so incredibly sorry to have to bring this information to each of you, but I want to continue being transparent and communicate with you all with what is going on with our school district and state. I will send out further information this week as I receive it from the Oklahoma State Department of Education (OSDE), Oklahoma State School Board Association (OSSBA), and the Cooperative Council of Oklahoma School Administrators (CCOSA).

As per the Oklahoma State Board of Education, Coleman Public Schools will be closed until April 6th, due to COVID-19. All school activities will be cancelled during this time.
